Andy
Andy reminds us on a daily basis that he can do things for himself. "Remember, Mom-- I'm FIVE now". I hadn't realized that being five brought so many added privileges! Lucky me, he can pour his own cereal now- including the milk. He usually only spills a *little* bit in the process.
He attends PreSchool two days a week for FIVE hours. Man, that's a long day. His first 2-3 days, he came home exhausted. He's getting used to it now- and it's good prep for all-day Kindergarten next year!
Andy loves organized pretending, playing "gadgets" (or spys), drawing robots (with lots of detailed buttons and switches), watching Boomerang Network (He actually eats spinich to be like Popeye!), Playing with his Leapster (educational games- YEAY!), and playing with "Big D", the first grader, from next door (affectionately known as our 5th child).
This kid is a true Mama's boy. He still loves to climb all over me like a little monkey. He likes to play with (and smell...) my hair- he'll "fix" it if it isn't just how he likes it! The only punishment I've found for him is to banish myself from him! No snuggling with Mama seems to be his only weakness!
Andy is STILL asking on a weekly basis if we can go swimming. What I wouldn't give for an indoor pool! This kid was a FISH this year! He decided he could swim by himself and just jumped right in. He insisted on wearing goggles at all times and would always be the first one in and the last one out when it was time to go. Since the pools are closed, we have resorted to multiple baths a day in the big tub. He still wears his goggles.
Andy was the kid in the Primary Program that seemed to sometimes forget that he was performing. All of a sudden he'd realize that everyone around him was singing, so he'd YELL a word or two- and then get back to his own little world. He was the hit of the program. SIGH.
